Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo is a perfect insight into what World War I was like. Told by Private Tommo Peaceful in the few hours before his death, this book kept me in floods of tears.
This book tells the story of Tommo's family, village and the love of his life before moving on to shocking and powerful scenes in the battlefields of The Great War. Born as the youngest in a family of three, one of Thomas's earliest memories is watching his dad die. He is later forced to go to school with his courageous and admirable brother Charlie, who is in the group for older children. All alone in the smaller class, Thomas meets Mollie, the love of his and Charlie's life. Thomas's childhood is full of horrid relations, crazy parents, lost jobs and wild adventures with Charlie, Mollie and his other brother, Big Joe. Although their situations were not always happy, the kept on making the most of everything and were a very close and happy family. I found every character easy to love. But when World War I begins and Charlie and Tommo join the army, they have a new set of problems. Tommo and Charlie have to face horrible sergeants, painful injuries and dire battle strategies. All of this builds up into a shocking, unforgettable end.
This blog is written by me! I was 7 when I started it, but now I'm 11! I review books that I think other children will like.

Invisible Fiends: Doc Mortis
When Kyle gets a virus, strange things begin to happen and he is whisked to hospital. As the virus kicks in, he is warned, "There's someone in the hospital. Someone worse than anything out there. Worse than anyone you've had to deal with so far. You've got to stay away from him."
When Kyle regains consciousness, he finds himself in a hospital. This is no normal hospital though, it is as far away from a normal hospital as you can think of! Everything is frightening - from Doc Mortis and his deadly doctors' implements to crazy clowns. However, the most frightening of all are the several children that Doc Mortis has altered and put in his hall of fame. While trying to escape and find the cure for the virus, Kyle stumbles across I.C, a boy with an incredible power. Together they can escape. Or can they?

My Best Friend and Other Enemies
This new book is one of my favourites and one that other children around my age can relate to. It is an easy read and not too fat, nor too thin. My Best Friend and Other Enemies is based on a girl called Jessica, who has had a best friend called Natalie since year one. They did everything together. They wrote songs, played games and had sleepovers. That was untill new girl Amelia joins, who steals Natalie and bullies Jessica. Will Jessica ever be able to outwit Amelia and Natalie but keep everyone as friends? It isn't too boyish or too girly and is a great book about school. I thoroughly recommend this funny, enjoyable and entertaining book 100% to 9-11 year olds. Enjoy!

Please Recommend!
Hi, I'm a ten year old who loves reading but is out of books! Please can anyone recommend me a book that is not too easy but is not inappropriate for my age (if you know what I mean!) I have read The Hunger Games and all the Lauren St John books.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Wonder
The reason I started this blog again was to tell the world about this fantastic book!
Wonder is the most WONDERful book I have ever read. It is a funny and moving story which made me laugh and cry. It is by far my favourite book.
August Pullman in just an ordinary American kid. Inside. On the outside, he's a freak. Born with a severe facial problem, August attracts attention of almost everyone who walks by. Children chat about him, parents ponder about him and students are surprised by him. It is August's first year of middle school and his first year of school and he is very nervous. Will he be able to get past the bullies and the humiliation to win some friends and survive the very hectic year?
I know I don't usually do this but...

My First Book Review for Some Time!
Hi everyone, I thought I'd start this up again, so today I am going to review a book which I think is excellent, and I'm sure you'll agree.
Grace lives in a tight Christian Community, where they have very strict rules about anything and everything. For example, girls aren't allowed to cut their hair and they must not touch Outsiders (people who aren't in that part of Christianity.) When Grace's dad is expelled from the Church, Grace is not permitted to see him ever again. What will happen next?

Freaky facts
Did you know
that statistically, you are more likely to be attacked by a shark? Or that phobophobia is the fear of fear?
Well I didn't until I read this awesome book, Freaky Facts.
The title tells you everything. Its a whole book of amazing facts, great for long journeys.
I like to read this book over and over again, as there are so many facts I can't remember them all! Every time, I amaze my friends and family with some cool fact that I have just learnt.
This book is smallish, the picture on here is nearly as big as the actual thing. It is good as it doesn't take up much space.
The illustrations are bright and funny. Most of them have speech bubbles.
I love this book and think anyone aged over 7 will love it too.
I recommend it 100%.
