The Band of Loren

This is a wonderful book.
The main character in this book is a girl called Hannah. One day,when her uncle comes to stay he gives her two presents. The first one is a beautiful coral necklace and the second one is a dream catcher.
That night, when Hannah goes to sleep, the dream catcher whisks her away to a land called Dreamworld. There Hannah makes good friends and is happy, but because there are danger signs and a mysterious cloud going around Dreamworld, she could be happier. At bedtime every night, Hannah and four of her new friends explore different parts of Dreamworld, trying to save it from the cloud.
This is a really gripping book and I didn't want to put it down.
This is Tess Dali's first book and she is already one of my favourite authors.
This book is medium sized with 274 pages.
I recommend it to girls aged 9-11.

Doubting Thomas

Hi.
Today I am reviewing Doubting Thomas by Morris Gleitzman.
It is a book about a boy in Australia who has nipples that itch whenever someone lies. He soon finds out that the problem with his nipples could lead to his death.
This is a truly gripping book and I couldn't put it down.
This book is a medium sized book with 178 pages.
It starts off in Australia but ends up in Paris.
My favourite part of the book was when Monsieur Poulet(the husband of someone who Thomas and his friends went to look for) said "Bottom plops! That is the only English swear word I know!" Then one of Thomas's friend offered to write some down for him!
This is an extremly enjoyable book which I recommend to 7-10 year olds.

Dork Diaries Party Time

This book is a bit like the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. Both are very good, but I probably like Dork Diaries best. I like it because it’s more emotional and the pictures are better. Like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, the main characters are girls. It is the diary of a girl called Nikki and she is American.
Dork Diaries has the same font as Diary of a Wimpy Kid, but it has more detailed pictures. I like these pictures better because of that.
The book is about Nikki and her school Halloween party. She gets into a bit of a pickle because she is supposed to be entertaining the younger children, dancing with her friends Chloe and Zoey AND hanging out with her crush, Brandon at the same time.

Oliver Moon Books

This is my brother's 2nd review on my blog. It is about all the Oliver Moon books.

The Oliver Moon books are very good.

My favourite one is Oliver Moon's Fangtastic Sleepover because it has scary things in it, such as vampires.

Horrible History books

Horrible Histories are brilliant books. They teach you a lot and make history fun. One of the best facts that I found out was that James I picked his nose and never washed his hands!

Horrible History books have been turned into a major CBBC TV show and some have even been turned into DS games.

Horrible Histories are brilliantly written by Terry Deary and Martin Browns illustrations make everything really funny.

There are over 50 Horrible History books to collect including Vile Victorians and Savage Stone age. I really like Horrible Histories and recommend the to 7-12 year olds.
I read them all the time.

Philippa Fisher's Fairy Godsister

This book is about a girl called Philippa and she has two embarrassing parents. They both are entertainers and can both do magic. When the new girl from school comes to Philippa, she is surprised to hear that the new girl (called Daisy) is a fairy. Daisy had been told to give Philippa three wish vouchers, but each wish seems to make things worse.

The first three famous five books

I find the famous five books adventurous and scary at the same time.

I have only read 3 of the books (we don't have no.4) but already I feel

that famous five books are so good that I could spend a whole day reading

them.

I recommend this series to children age 8+ and to children who really like

having adventures.

These books are all medium sized with around 250 pages.

Horrible Geography Bloomin' Rainforests

I'm afraid to say that this book is quite boring.

Although it tells you a lot about rain forests, I don't find it very interesting.

I think it is the same with all horrible geography books, they are all quite boring but they have brilliant pictures, which is good.

This book is quite small with 125 pages.

I recommend this book to you if you find geography fascinating.

Harry Potter

Harry Potter books are the best. They are full of adventure and danger. Although the books are long, (one is even 766 pages) they make you want to read on and on. My favourite character in the stories is Harry because he has lots of adventures and is very brave. Some of his adventures include going in a flying car and competing in the tri wizard tournament. I also like Hermione because she likes studying but is also up for adventure. My favourite part of Harry Potter is in book 5. This is when Ron and Hermonie become prefects. All of the books are quite fat. I recommend this book to 8-14 year olds.

The fabulous girls book

Wow! What a super book, and perfect for Christmas presents too! I’m sure girls aged 7-12 years will love this fantastic girly book. It’s crammed with information and tips about how to be the coolest girl in the country and how to really stand out from the crowd.
From cooking scrumptious treats to making your hair curly, there is something for every girl in here! Tips include to wear your hair in a plait on an aeroplane because when you wear a ponytail your hair will go everywhere - it will be uncomfortable when you lean back in your seat. Another tip is examples of some things to put in your hand luggage such as lip balm and hand moisturiser.
